Daniel Levy has hit out at the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, saying winning the Europa League was not enough as he wanted the Premier League title instead.

Postecoglou’s sacking, which the Spurs board said was a unanimous decision, comes just 16 days after he guided Spurs to a 1-0 Europa League final win over Manchester United and their first European crown in 41 years.
Thomas Frank replaces แทงบอล UFABET ราคาดีที่สุด ไม่มีขั้นต่ำ him, having left Brentford after seven years in charge and will take charge of a team in European football for the first time as Spurs prepare for next season’s Champions League.
Despite his success at Bilbao, which saw Spurs secure a place in next season’s Champions League, it came after Postecoglou had overseen the club’s worst Premier League season in their history.
Chairman Levy has spoken out for the first time since Postecoglou’s departure, explaining the board’s decision to sack him in an interview with the club’s media team alongside Vinai Venkatesham, who was appointed chief executive in April.
“You saw the emotions in the parade, it was incredible, we won the European Cup,” Levy said.
“But it’s not enough. What we didn’t do is more important. We’ve to win the league.”
“We want to win the Premier League. We’re want to win the Champions League. We want to win the trophy.”
“I am very grateful to Ange. I have no regrets appointing Ange. In his first season, we finished fifth and in the second season, we were very happy to win the championship.”
“But we have to compete in every competition and we feel like we need to change. I have a good relationship with him. I told him he will always be part of our history.”
“He and his family will always be welcome back. It was a mutual decision, not mine. We did everything together. Emotionally, it was difficult, but we believe we made the right decision for the club.”
“Whenever you have a new coach, it’s always a new start. You always have different ideas, but we want to build on the success of last season’s title win.”
“One thing that impressed me about Thomas is that he’s very intelligent, a great communicator, a superhuman, and he’s got a lot of other technical things that are obviously important.”
